On February 3, 2014, the delegation of Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority visited Rostechnadzor

On February 3, 2014, the delegation of Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) headed by Masahiro Aoki, Director of International Affairs Division, visited Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service.

The Japanese delegation was welcomed by staff members of the Department of International Relations and experts of SEC NRS. It was the first meeting since the signing of the Memorandum on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy between Rostechnadzor and the NRA on September 16, 2013.

The parties exchanged information on the structure and functions of the national regulatory bodies, and on their regulatory and legal frameworks in the field of nuclear energy use. Masahiro Aoki also told about the actions taken in Japan following the Fukushima Daiichi accident. The Russian party reported on its experience of hosting the IAEA IRRS missions (the initial mission took place in November 2009, and the follow-up one in November 2013).
