Rostechnadzor Welcomes IRRS Follow-up Mission in Moscow

The participants of the first day’s meeting will deliver presentations on “Major Regulatory Changes in the Field of Atomic Energy Use in the Russian Federation from 2009 till Now”, “Status of Implementation of the IRRS Recommendations and Suggestions”, “Self-Assessment of IRRS Modules: Emergency Response and Preparedness; and Response and Regulatory Implications of the Fukushima Accident”. Interviews with experts will follow after that.

The concluding press-conference on “Outcomes of the International Atomic Energy Agency IRRS Follow-up Mission” will take place at Swissotel Krasnye Holmy (Moscow, Kosmodamianskaya nab., 52 bld. 6) at 13:00 on November 19, 2013.

It should be reminded that Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service is hosting the 2013 IRRS Follow-up mission in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. The Government also instructed the other authorities concerned to take part in the mission.

The team of IAEA experts will review the implementation of the recommendations made by the 2009 IRRS Mission and assess the Rostechnadzor activities in the areas of emergency preparedness and response, and regulatory implications of the Fukushima-Daiichi accident.
