Delegation of Rostechnadzor took part in 33rd meeting of the Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities within NEA/OECD and a workshop ‘Challenges and Enhancements to the Safety Culture of the Regulatory Body’ held by NEA/OECD

On June 1-3, 2015, in Paris, France, a delegation of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service headed by Chairman of the Service, Alexey Aleshin, took part in 33rd meeting of the Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities (CNRA) within NEA/OECD and a workshop ‘Challenges and Enhancements to the Safety Culture of the Regulatory Body’ held by NEA/OECD.

During CNRA meeting on 1-2 June 2015, committee members summarized activities of their respective working and task groups, approved their working plans, discussed cooperation of CNRA with other NEA/OECD committees, and came up with latest updates in the field of safety regulation in the atomic energy use in their countries.

The workshop ‘Challenges and Enhancements to the Safety Culture of the Regulatory Body’ was held on 3 June 2015 and covered the evolution history and actual principles of safety culture of the regulatory body, as well as the objectives to enhance the level of safety culture. The workshop presentations produced a concerted position on integrated parts of the safety culture of the regulatory body and the development prospects.

Finally, A. Aleshin met with NEA Director-General, W. Magwood to discuss further participation of Rostechnadzor’s specialists in NEA activities and identify possible subjects of interest to address during the meeting in Rostechnadzor on 30 June 2015 to be conducted in course of William Magwood’s forthcoming visit to Russia.
