Rostechnadzor took part in the annual meeting of the Policy Group of the Multinational Design Evaluation Programme
On June 4, 2015, in Paris, France, a delegation of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service headed by Deputy Chairman of the Service, A. Ferapontov, took part in the annual meeting of the Policy Group (PG) of the Multinational Design Evaluation Programme (MDEP). Alongside with Rostechnadzor, members of MDEP are representatives of regulatory bodies from UK, India, Canada, China, UAE, the Republic of Korea, USA, Turkey, Finland, France, Sweden, South Africa and Japan.
PG members discussed accomplishments of MDEP working groups over the last year and program implementation plans for the future. The meeting resulted in reaching a consensus for the following:
- Activity of MDEP should be resumed after the end of the current term (presently - 2018);
- Activities of working groups on certain issues important for safety should be finished; if new issues arise, special groups of limited term should be established;
- A mechanism of inclusion of feedback from NPP operational experience into the MDEP scope of activity was considered essential;
- Cooperation with the industry as regards MDEP activities should be maintained as previously or even enhanced.
