The delegation of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (PRB) visited Rostechnadzor
The delegation of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (PRB) headed by Naiyyum Choudhury, Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA), visited Rostechnadzor on October 13 and 14, 2015.
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss future interagency cooperation, including issues of support to the Bangladeshi party in development of the national safety regulation system in the use of atomic energy.
Rostechnadzor Chairman Alexey Aleshin and Deputy Chairman Alexey Ferapontov met with the Bangladeshi delegation headed by Chairman Choudhury and Dr. S. M. Saiful Hoque, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the PRB to Russia.
“I want to reassure you that Rostechnadzor and its technical support organizations are prepared to render comprehensive support to our Bangladeshi colleagues, share our experience and provide consultancy on all aspects of nuclear and radiation safety and security regulation”, noted Chairman Aleshin.
The Bangladeshi delegation also visited both of Rostechnadzor’s TSOs – Scientific and Engineering Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, where they was acquainted with details of the safety review process and application of software for verification of technical solutions applied in NPP designs, and FSUE VO “Safety”, where they were informed about the experience with foreign regulators in the consultancy field and received preliminary suggestions of prospective services aimed at establishing the national system of nuclear and radiation safety and security.
Continuing their acquaintance with the activities of the Russian regulatory body, the PRB delegation also visited the Information and Analysis Centre of Rostechnadzor where they were told about the equipment and possibilities for assessment and prognosis of radiation situation and state of the processes at the nuclear facilities.
The minutes of meeting setting further steps and agreements for the development of interagency cooperation between the regulatory bodies of Russia and Bangladesh were signed as a result of the visit.
