Rostechnadzor hosted an international workshop of the industrial safety and energy safety regulatory bodies of the BRICS countries
On 11-12 November, Rostechnadzor hosted an international workshop within the Russian presidency in BRICS. The workshop was focused on matters of industrial and energy safety and was held in an outreach format.
During the workshop, the attendees discussed actual issues and modern trends in regulation of industrial safety and energy safety, as well as key challenges of national regulatory bodies, including improvement of the regulatory framework.
At the end of the workshop, Alexey Aleshin, Chairman of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service chaired a round table where the participants addressed issues of further cooperation on matters of industrial safety and energy safety.
The discussions resulted in a unified position that stressed the need in continued and developing cooperation in this area not only within BRICS Alliance, but also under other international organizations and associations in order to promote efforts of regulatory and supervisory bodies to align the regulatory frameworks and practices with a view to continually decreasing accident and injury rates at hazardous industrial and energy facilities.
Also, bilateral meetings of Alexey Aleshin, Chairman of Rostechnadzor with Alexander Kudryashov, Head of Gospromnadzor of the Republic of Belarus and with Huang Yuzhi, Vice Minister of State Administration of Work Safety of People's Republic of China took place within the workshop.The parties discussed issues of further development and enhancement of the interagency cooperation in the field of industrial safety regulation. The bilateral meetings came to an end with the signing of minutes.
