Annual meeting with Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (STUK) in Rostechnadzor
An annual meeting with Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (STUK) took place in Moscow on 31 January 2017. The purpose of the meeting was summarizing the bilateral cooperation in 2016 and approving joint activities for 2017. Deputy Chairman of Rostechnadzor Alexey Ferapontov and STUK Director General Petteri Tiippana led their respective delegations.
In course of the meeting, the parties exchanged on most important events in the activity of Rostechnadzor and STUK, as well as nuclear industry of the both countries. It was emphasized that, in accordance with the 2016 annual cooperation program, 8 joint seminars on nuclear and radiation safety regulation of NPPs, supervision of accounting, control and physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear fuel cycle safety regulation were conducted.
The parties reached agreement to further continue active cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation: for this year, 10 joint actions has been planned, including not only bilateral seminars but also inspections of nuclear facilities and emergency exercises (where foreign specialists participate as observers) in Russia and Finland.
