Rostechnadzor Signs MoU with Indonesia’s Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency
Alexey Aleshin, Rostechnadzor Chairman, and Jazi Eko Istiyanto, BAPETEN Chairman signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Federal Environmental, Industrial and nuclear Supervision Service of the Russian Federation and the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia on March 31, 2017, at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
Under the MoU, the regulatory authorities of Russia and Indonesia will cooperate in the full range of issues associated with regulation of nuclear and radiation safety and nuclear security.
Summarizing the talks that took place, the parties noted their mutual interest in further progress of interagency cooperation under the signed document.
Alexey Aleshin also had meetings with Juan Carlos Lentijo, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, and Mikhail Chudakov, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy.The parties discussed the cooperation between Rostechnadzor and the IAEA in the aspects of mutual interest and prospects for cooperation in 2017.
