HAEA Delegation Visits Russia to Review NPP Equipment Assessment and Acceptance Processes
The delegation of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority headed by Director General Gyula Fichtinger visited Russia between April 10 to 14, 2017, for review of the processes of NPP equipment assessment and acceptance. The Russian team that accompanied the Hungarian delegation was headed by Rostechnadzor Deputy Chairman Alexey Ferapontov.
As provided by the programme, the HAEA delegation visited Izhora Plants in Kolpino on April 11 and the construction site of Leningrad NPP-2 in Sosonovy Bor on April 12.
On April 13, a bilateral workshop took place in St. Petersburg where the experts reported on the following topics:
conditions of equipment supplies for the nuclear plant units under construction from the manufacturers;
assessment of compliance for the safety significant NPP equipment;
qualification of the equipment suppliers (methods and results);
assessment of compliance with the requirements of the construction license as one of the license conditions; and
procedure of assessment of and communication on safety-related events at the construction stage.In conclusion, the participants noted the importance of bilateral relations and agreed to continue their cooperation in future.
