Indian nuclear industry representatives visits Rostechnadzor

09.07.2018 On 5 July 2018 in Moscow, Rostechnadzor hosted a meeting with representatives of the Indian nuclear industry and JSC “Rusatom Overseas” to address topical issues of safety regulation of new NPPs being constructed under the Russian designs. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Alexey Ferapontov.
During the meeting a representative of SEC NRS, a Rostechnadzor’s TSO, presented aspects of the safety review of Novovoronezh NPP-2 and Kursk NPP-2, including the performance comparison between the VVER-1200 and VVER-TOI reactors.
In conclusion Anil Kakodkar, a member of India Atomic Energy Commission, expressed gratitude for the detailed discussion of the matters of the Indian-party interest, including the Rostechnadzor position on the sufficiency of justification of VVER-1200 reactor optimization and improvement.
