Rostechnadzor and Radiation Protection Authority of Zambia signed Agreement on Cooperation

On 17 September 2019, a meeting between Rostechnadzor and Radiation Protection Authority of Zambia (RPA) was held on the margins of the IAEA General Conference and resulted in a signed up Agreement on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
Alexey Aleshin, Chairman of Rostechnadzor and Boster Siwila, RPA Executive Director affixed their signs to the document.
Alexey Aleshin pledged Mr. Siwila of necessary support from of the Russian regulator to RPA in developing their national nuclear and radiation safety regulation infrastructure.
As provided by the Agreement, the interagency cooperation is to be implemented in the following main areas:

-         Development of the legislative basis in the field of nuclear and radiation safety;
-         Licensing of activities in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy;
-         Supervisory activities, including development and implementation of inspection programs;
-         Training of RPA personnel, and other areas.
