Near-term Actions (2011, 2012)

4.1. Enhancement of NPP seismic safety (ongoing, to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2015).

1) Development of plans of additional actions to improve the stability of systems and components against seismic effects for each NPP site (ongoing, to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2015);

Medium-term Actions (2013, 2014)

4.1 Enhancement of NPP seismic safety (ongoing, to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2015).

2) Introduction of the reactor seismic protection system at the NPP units – commissioning at Novovoronezh 3, 4 and 5, Smolensk 2 (completed in the 4th quarter of 2013); commissioning at Bilibino, Kola and Smolensk 1 and 3 (completed in the 4th quarter of 2014).

4.2. Equipping the NPP units with emergency I&C designed to operate under BDBAs (completed in the 4th quarter of 2014).

1) Development of emergency I&C specifications for the RBMK NPPs (completed in the 4th quarter of 2013);

2) Development of decisions on equipping each NPP unit with emergency I&C (completed in the 4th quarter of 2014).

4.3. Development of ice generation analysis method for the emergency NPP equipment cooling pipelines in winter conditions (with experimental demonstration) (completed in the 4th quarter of 2014).

Long-term Actions (2015, 2016)

4.1. Enhancement of NPP seismic safety (ongoing, to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2016).

1) Development of plans of additional actions to improve the stability of systems and components against seismic effects for each NPP site (the date of ending will be determined after further research);

2) Introduction of the reactor seismic protection system at the NPP units – commissioning at Kursk and Leningrad (completed in the 4th quarter of 2015).
