Turkish nuclear regulatory authority observes practical exams at Novovoronezh full-scale simulator

A delegation from NDK, the nuclear regulatory authority of the Republic of Türkiye, visited the Russian Federation to observe practical examinations at a full-scale nuclear power plant simulator in Novovoronezh.
The NDK delegation visited the training center of the Novovoronezh NPP, where they learned about the organization of personnel training and the range of training analytical simulators used for automated process control systems, electrical systems, reactor plant analysis, neutron flux monitoring equipment, in-core monitoring systems, unit control rooms, and also visited the chemical laboratory and fire protection, virtual reality and radiation safety classrooms. During the meeting with the management of the Rostechnadzor Don Interregional Territorial Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision, the NDK delegation was introduced to the regulatory framework and practical approaches used in providing public services for assessing knowledge of NPP personnel. The representatives of the Turkish regulatory authority had the opportunity to observe the practical skills test held for Novovoronezh NPP personnel subject to licensing on the full-scale simulator and received detailed explanations in the form of a question-and-answer session, including information about the powers of the regulatory body and the rights and responsibilities of the operating organization. The Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service and the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority cooperate under the Agreement on cooperation in the field of licensing and supervision of nuclear safety, signed in Istanbul on June 8, 2010. |
