Rostechnadzor and National Nuclear Safety Administration of China hold coordination meeting

29.10.2025 A joint coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Alexander Trembitsky, Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor), and Dong Baotong, Administrator of the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA).
The discussion focused on approaches to licensing and certification of nuclear fuel, requirements for the design, manufacture, and operation of safety important systems of nuclear power plants, requirements for nuclear fusion facilities, and other issues related to cooperation between the regulators of Russia and China.
Alexander Trembitsky and Dong Baotong signed the Protocol amending the Agreement between Rostechnadzor and the NNSA on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation in the peaceful use of atomic energy, dated October 22, 2015. The amendments are aimed at updating the existing agreements, taking into account the increased number of bilateral meetings, and expanding areas of cooperation.
The head of the NNSA described the current level of cooperation as open, friendly, and effective, and expressed confidence that the signed document would further enhance the productivity of joint work. The head of Rostechnadzor assured his Chinese colleagues of the Russian regulator’s commitment to comprehensively deepening cooperation, developing practical partnerships, and maintaining friendly relations.
The next joint coordination meeting will be held in Russia in 2026.
