Rostechnadzor hosts scientific visits for delegations from Belarus and Bolivia

From 17 to 28 November 2025, delegations from the Department of Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (Gosatomnadzor) and the Authority for Supervision of Electric Power and Nuclear Technology of the Plurinational State of Bolivia (AETN) visited the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service as part of the IAEA Technical Cooperation program. Representatives from Rostechnadzor, the Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, JSC GSPI, the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, and JSC VO Izotop participated in the visits.
Events with the participation of the representatives of Gosatomnadzor of the Republic of Belarus included a scientific visit and internships on radiation safety regulation when using ionizing radiation sources for medical and industrial purposes, with visits to the Kurchatov Institute and VO Isotope, as well as safety regulation of nuclear research facilities, with a visit to the Konstantinov St. Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics.
The AETN delegation’s internship focused on inspections during the commissioning and operation of research reactors. During the meetings, the Bolivian specialists learned about safety regulations for radioactive waste management, safety requirements, and general information about the regulatory system, supervision of physical protection, nuclear material accounting and control, authorization for nuclear facility workers, and inspections. The Bolivian delegation also had a technical visit to the Kurchatov Institute in Moscow. |
