Rostechnadzor takes part in IAEA IPPAS mission to Bangladesh

15.12.2025 Dmitry Bokov, head of the Special Security Department of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service, took part in the IAEA International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) mission to the Republic of Bangladesh.
Eight experts from seven countries and the IAEA assessed the status of the physical protection system for nuclear materials and facilities, the compliance of physical protection procedures and practices with the Agency’s recommendations and the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, as well as regulatory documents on physical protection.
The experts held a meeting with representatives of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA), the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Bangladesh Army. They also visited the Rooppur nuclear power plant and the research reactor at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment.
Following the mission’s findings, the experts made recommendations and suggestions for improving the physical protection regime, as well as noted some good practices.
