01.06.2023 Representatives of the Department of Special Security of Rostechnadzor and SEC NRS take part in the meeting of technical and legal experts taking place at the IAEA to exchange information on the implementation by States of the Code of Conduct on the Safet
The purpose of the meeting is to exchange experience in the application of the Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources and the two guides to the Code (on import and export, and on the management of spent radioactive sources). Such meetings are organized by the IAEA every three years, providing an opportunity for the countries to present progress in the implementation of the provisions of the Code, and discuss needs and exchange experiences. In addition, workshops are held annually on certain issues regulated by the Code. The 2023 meeting is attended by nearly 300 professionals from over 120 countries. Read more →

The Forum was established in 2015 under the auspices of the IAEA as an independent association of regulatory authorities and their technical support organizations with experience in the safety issues of small modular reactors (SMRs) and experience in applying the nuclear regulatory framework, taking into account the technical features of nuclear facilities of this type. On April 17, 2023, Alexander Trembitsky, Chairman of Rostechnadzor, held a meeting with a delegation of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh led by Ziaul Hassan, First Deputy Minister of Science and Technology. During the meeting with the participation of Ziaul Hasan and Md. Muzammel Haque, head of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA), the parties discussed topical issues of safety regulation during the construction of the Rooppur NPP, including a detailed review of the requirements for the physical protection system of the fresh nuclear fuel storage facility at the NPP site and various aspects of safety regulation in nuclear fuel transportation.
