04.12.2017 Rostechnadzor Grants Operating Licenses for Two NPP Units

December 4, 2017. Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) has granted operating licenses for the first VVER-1200 unit of Leningrad-2 and the fourth VVER-1000 unit of Rostov.

21.11.2017 Chairman Aleshin Meets Delegation of Spain’s CSN

Alexey Aleshin, Chairman of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service, had a meeting on the sidelines of the International Public Dialogue Forum and Exhibition “AtomEco 2017” with the delegation of the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) headed by its Chairman Fernando Marti Scharfhausen.

16.11.2017 Delegation of OECD/NEA held seminar at Rostechnadzor

A delegation of the Nuclear Energy Agency under the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/NEA) led by Head of the Division of Nuclear Safety Technology and Regulation Ho Nieh visited Rostechnadzor on 16 November 2017. The visit purpose was to demonstrate the applications of OECD/NEA outputs as exemplified by Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities (CNRA) and Committee for the Safety of Nuclear Installations (CSNI) documents as well as to learn about the existing practice of implementation of OECD/NEA products in Rostechnadzor.

08.11.2017 Deputy Chairman Ferapontov Takes Part in Rooppur NPP Construction License Ceremony
The ceremony of awarding the design and construction license for Rooppur nuclear power plant Unit 1 from the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) took place on November 4, 2017, in Dhaka. The ceremony was attended by Yeafesh Osman, Minister of Science and Technology, Mashiur Rahman, Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser, Naiyyum Choudhury, BAERA Chairman, Dilip Kumar Saha, Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), and representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office of Bangladesh. 24.10.2017 Rostechnadzor Signs Industrial Safety Cooperation Agreement with Armenia

As part of the visit of Chairman of the Government of the Russian federation Dmitri Medvedev to Yerevan, the Republic of Armenia, the agreement between Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service and the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Armenia on cooperation in the field of industrial safety regulation was signed on October 24, 2017.

24.10.2017 Deputy Chairman Ferapontov and IAEA DDG Yang Open Interregional Training Course under IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme
October 23-27, 2017, are the dates of the interregional training course “Licensing Process for NPPs” hosted by Rostechnadzor in cooperation with State Corporation Rosatom and the IAEA. The course is attended by 20 representatives from 15 countries – Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia and Uganda. The training event is financed from the Russian Federation’s extra-budgetary contribution for technical cooperation projects of the IAEA aimed at developing nuclear infrastructure and organized to acquaint the participants with the Agency’s recommendations for the licensing process and also national licensing experience of Russia, India and Finland.
