On February 26-27 Moscow hosted the first G8 Nuclear Safety and Security Group (NSSG) Meeting under the Russia's Presidency. Along with G8 delegations, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the European Commission. The first two-day meeting of the VVER Working Group (WG-VVER) was completed on January 22, 2014, in Moscow. The group comprises representatives of Rostechnadzor and regulatory bodies of Finland, India and Turkey. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, which performs as Technical Secretariat for the Multinational Design Evaluation Programme (MDEP) under which this design specific working group was established. On December 20, 2013, Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service and the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety regulation in peaceful use of atomic energy.
